Meetings and Rideouts

The monthly rideouts are held on the first sunday of every month, and take in some of the local countryside. We occasionally organise runs to coincide with other regional groups - these may be instead of or in addition to our own rideouts.

We meet at the old Ron Parkinson Motorcycles site, which was the (now closed) Ducati dealer at Marks Tey in Essex, just off the A12 between Colchester and Chelmsford.

We meet at 10am to leave by 10.30am and the rides usually end up somewhere for a spot of lunch. Many of the members have family commitments, so we like to finish by around 12.30-1pm.

Social Evening

Not everyone wants to come along to the monthly rideout, or can make it that month, but still wants to meet up with everyone and talk bikes! We're now having a "social evening" which will be held in a pub in the middle of the month. This gives you all a chance to come along and meet the other DSC Essex members without having to come along on your bike.

The "DSC Essex Pub Night" meetings are held on the 3rd monday of every month at The Angel pub on Main Road, Broomfield, Chelmsford. Just follow the signs to Broomfield A&E Hospital and you'll pass the pub. We meet from 8.30pm onwards and there's plenty of parking space and we usually get a good crowd. Feel free to come along and say hello. Use this map to find your way to the pub if you're not sure where it is.

Other Meetings

There is also the occasional informal meeting at the Dick Turpin pub on the A127 just outside Basildon on a Tuesday night. This is a popular local bike meeting with hundreds of bikes in the car-park when the weather is nice. There's also a BBQ and sometimes a couple of stalls there too.

Don't forget that if you want to attend a trackday but you would rather do it with friends, or simply need some help on the day, you can always check the Trackdays section of the DSC Message Board. There may well be some other DSC members attending the same event who will be pleased to help you out with anything from hints and tips to tools!
